Enneagram
The Enneagram (Any-uh-gram) is a personality typing system that helps people understand who they are and what motivates them. It identifies 9 ways of seeing and experiencing the world. It is a tremendously helpful tool for spiritual growth, parenting, marriage, and all your relationships.

The Enneagram PreConference is on Monday, January 7. Casey McCollum: Enneagram Teacher has the ministry experience plus the Enneagram knowledge to make your time and money well spent.
Do you know your Enneagram number?

For those that have discovered the Enneagram, knowing your number is just the beginning. This workshop will take you to the next level. We will dive deeper into the Enneagram and discuss how your type affects the way you approach ministry as well as your marriage and other relationships. This class will start at 9AM on January 7.

Faith for Exiles: 5 Research Based Insights to Help a New Generation Follow Jesus in a Digital Babylon
This session will feature new research insights and practical applications from David Kinnaman and Mark’s up coming book, Faith For Exiles: 5 Ways For A New Generation to Follow Jesus in Digital Babylon. We’ll look at key insights to understanding Millennials and Gen Z, but also look at our research of four groups of Christians and former Christians from this generation and what led some to become resilient disciples and others to walk away. This workshop includes practical tools to take back to your church for leading workshops to help apply the research concepts. We’ll also discuss the cultural shifts that are requiring the church to develop resilient disciples because the next generation is no longer living in a kind of “Jerusalem” as previous generations , but rather they are exiles in “Digital Babylon”. The Christian community has an unprecedented opportunity to influence the trajectory of the Millennial and Gen Z generations — and this provides inroads for the gospel by shaping a sense of calling and purpose, workplace wellbeing, human flourishing as well as generosity and godly ambition.

Moving Toward Inclusion
Could your student ministry be limited by your personal cultural lens? Ours was. Bring an open mind to this class as we journey from a lack of cultural competency toward inclusion. We will discuss what growing toward inclusion has looked like for us, and what it might look like for you. From programing to personal conversations to equipping volunteers, every area of ministry needs space for differences. Whether differences are: racial and ethnic, socioeconomic, gender, sexual orientation, physical and/or social ability, etc. the Kingdom of God is not monocultural.

“Off-Ended: Breaking Free Of The Trap Of Being Easily Offended”
We live and minister in an age of “offense.” To be offended is to, quite literally, be “off-ended.” It’s to lose one’s footing. Some of us are all too easily “off-ended” by others, while others of us minister among people and in churches where people are all too easily “off-ended.” The wisdom of Scripture speaks to this trap. This session will explore a way to transcend being easily “off-ended.”

Social Media use continues to climb year after year, but most churches have fallen behind the cutting edge of presenting themselves online. The Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter pages for your ministry are a reflection of that ministry’s personality. Do you feel like your pages reflect back on your ministry well? Maybe you can see the potential of social media but you really aren’t sure if this is what your ministry needs to focus on at this moment. Social Media is not just a trend that will fade away. It is here to stay. Together in this class, we will discuss what a “win” looks like on your church pages and strategies to achieve them.

Are you tired, is ministry “piling up” on you? Have you ever noticed that when you walk with someone through tragedy and adversity it effects you as well? Helping someone through grief and tragedy sticks to everyone envolved. What happens when you have helped several people over a few years span? Have those experiences compile and effected your ability to minister to others. Why do you feel guilty about this? In this class we will openly discuss what long term effects grief, guilt, and tragic experiences have on you, your family as caregivers. Wither the grief was yours, someone else's, or someone near you, grief sticks. Come hear from people that are doing some things or have ideas that are "outside the box" of traditional Youth Ministry, and see if there are some ways you could use these ideas in your own ministry! In the past we've had a NASA Astronaut, a Sports Broadcaster, a therapist, a ballet dancer, a stay-at-home mom, and a Disney Animator - just to name a few. Come hear who we have with us this year - you'll be disappointed if you miss the surprise this year!

Self-Care is not Self-ish
Feeling called and getting caught up in the day to day demands of ministry, family and friends, youth ministers often find it difficult to attend to their own needs. With the long list of responsibilities, we often put ourselves last (that is what we are suppose to do right?). It is OK and right to make it a priority to care for ourselves and not feel guilty! We will talk about how to effectively take care of ourselves and in doing that, we can be more effective in God's Kingdom!
