The Church of "They": Loving and Leading Difficult People
Do you ever find yourself discouraged by what “they” say?  Combining their professional experiences in ministry and mental health, the presenters will focus on equipping church leadership to deal with the difficult personalities we sometimes encounter in our congregations.  Consideration will be given to direct face-to-face interactions, as well as to the indirect complaints of nameless, faceless critics.
Participants will:
•    Encounter a Scripturally-informed ethic of managing our anxiety when coping with difficult people
•    Assess and improve responses to others
•    Acquire practical suggestions offered by a network of experienced church leaders

Self-Care is not Self-ish
Feeling called and getting caught up in the day to day demands of ministry, family and friends, youth ministers often find it difficult to attend to their own needs. With the long list of responsibilities, we often put ourselves last (that is what we are suppose to do right?). It is OK and right to make it a priority to care for ourselves and not feel guilty! We will talk about how to effectively take care of ourselves and in doing that, we can be more effective in God's Kingdom!
